Alma surveyed over 300 clinicians and clients across the country about their experience with teletherapy. The results in this survey indicate a shift in perspective that stemmed from COVID-19 and gives us a glimpse into the future of mental health care.

COVID-19 fundamentally altered norms and attitudes around teletherapy

Before the pandemic, 84% of clients and 69% of clinicians said they had never tried teletherapy.

By May 2021, teletherapy was not only more common, but also overwhelmingly well received. 91% of clients and 87% of clinicians reported that their experience with teletherapy was “good” or “great”.

No significant impacts to the clinician-client relationship

Despite the abrupt transition to teletherapy, we’ve found that teletherapy hasn’t negatively impacted the relationship between clinicians and clients.
